More about Adreame of Vegan
Adreame of Vegan grew directly from the health needs of myself, my family, and then my community. It started with me becoming more aware and educated on what I consume and what it does or does not do for my body. I was vegetarian for 8 years before becoming vegan and I just wanted to dig deeper. I was healthier but still had health issues and wasn't at my optimal health. This lead me to more research and documentaries and eventually Transitioning myself and my 8 yr old daughter she was born vegetarian. I learned how to cook different types of food for her. I wanted to control the salt , eliminate sugar and preservatives from her food, being extremely conscious of what I was putting in her body. My family and friends noticed and I started cooking meals for them as well to stay on course with their health journey. This blossomed into a meal prep business that allowed me to do what I love and make a living. It continued to grow into much more as time went on and I am so grateful to the people that supported and continue to support my journey.
Adreame of Vegan also came from the Activist in me that wants to truly do my part and heal my people. One of the leading killers of African Americans is disease and almost all of it is attributed to what we eat/consume. The purpose of my work is to feed people homecooked health. When you cook from a place of love the food is just better and when you add healing and wellness to that it’s just a gift that everyone should be given in life. I want to introduce or reintroduce plants to people in a way that encourages a deeper need and appreciation for them. I use my Caribbean, Spanish, and Cali background to create flavorful herb-infused plant-based dishes and give the respect and majority of the plate back to Plants. I want to not only satisfy your taste buds but heal your body, it’s not Adreame to have both.
